Amazement for Adcote School as pupils earn exceptional A Level results
Pupils at Adcote School for Girls in Shropshire went above and beyond expectations as they achieved remarkable A Level results this week.
is a day and boarding school for girls aged 7-18, where the unique CLEAR learning programme teaches young women the core skills of confidence, leadership, engagement, achievement and resilience, supporting them to thrive and contribute to society.
Potential trailblazers are to enter the field as almost half – 47% – of girls heading to university will study courses that cover the STEM subjects of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Half of all grades were awarded at A* and A, resembling an 8% increase on last year’s results, exceeding pre-pandemic levels and the national average, a truly outstanding feat for this cohort.
Amazingly, 84% of Year 13 students earned at least one A* or A grade.
There were superb results all around, and there was some highlights in specific subjects. In English Literature and Further Maths all students achieved A* or A grades. In Chemistry 100% of pupils received A* to B results. This was also the case in Art.
Diane Browne, Headmistress, adds that the Adcote School community are ‘absolutely thrilled’ to see the class of 2023 buck national trends with exceptional results:
“We are absolutely thrilled with these results, and delighted for our students who have accessed fantastic courses at such prestigious universities. To increase our percentage of top grades when schools were warned that the number of A*/A grades would be significantly reduced is utterly wonderful, and testimony to the hard work and dedication of our students and teachers.”
